Again. There is nothing to "fix". It's not broken. It's doing exactly what it's supposed to do.
I got the iphone 8 plus about three weeks ago and since the day I got it I noticed it would constantly disconnect from wi-fi as soon as I locked my phone. After spending 3 hours on the phone with an apple rep. Who had me reset my phone, my router, and connect to itunes for software I still had the same problem. Today while trying to connect to wi-fi I accidentally clicked the i on the right side and realized there’s an auto join button which was off. I clicked it on and my problem was fixed!!! I have not disconnected from wi-fi. I even left my house and it joined automatically when I got back.
I'f it's working exactly like it's supposed to, how do we disable this feature. My phone only has wifi calling at my house and I can't have it disconnecting from wifi just because I lock my phone.
You don't disable it. That's the way it works. If you don't get decent coverage in your house, then maybe you should consider switching to a carrier with better coverage.
Here I was thinking you might have some insight that was actually helpful. Clearly I was wrong.
Please provide a support documentation for your claim!
As an end user from Apple it is our right to have a support documentation for a claim or a particular feature!
No. It's not related to a tinfoil hat conspiracy theory.
I am having the same prob
Yes my problem is fixed. I no longer disconnect from wi-fi and it automatically connects when I arrive at home.
I have the “auto-join” I think you need to be connected to wi-fi for it to pop up. Hope this helps I know how frustrating it is
The only option that I have in the "i" menu is on and it stills disconnect when locked.
Do you mind sharing a screen shoot of that option? Thanks.
May I ask you if you have DSL/ADSL provider or is it a public network that requires a login? I don’t have that option due to fiber > router > Wifi
Sorry for the confusion, the network settings of your iPhone I meant in my resolution reply.
There is nothing related to the ISP or internet point of connection!!
I understand. But why don’t I have that option? I think not everyone has it, and I’m teying to understand why.
Hmmm..
This is strange!!
can you verify it again, use the below link to see the picture!
