Calendar Invitation Error

I keep getting a calendar invitation error telling me “Your response to the invitation cannot be sent..” It comes up constantly and I can’t figure out how to shut it off. The online forms say shut off your Calendar account and turn it back on and reboot but there is no option to shut off your calendar. Any other ideas or solutions?

I was able to solve the problem on both my iPhone X and iPad. The error was being generate by my Exchange account. I went to Settings->Accounts & Passwords->[exchange account] . I then switched off the calendar, chose to delete it from my phone, and finally switched it back on. No problems since on either device.

  1. I did not have this reoccurring error until after the last update.
  2. I spent 30 minutes waiting for Apple Tech on the phone. The higher level tech had no fix. Blamed exchange and google mail.
  3. I just tried the work around above and it did not work either.
  4. Very annoying and takes the "smart" out of smart phone.
  5. Apparently it is happing with iPhone X too.


Come on Apple engineers...lets get this fixed...

This is ridiculous. From A to Z


  • Not being able to fix this right away without refreshing the whole account.
  • Continuing to try to send the response after weeks of attempts. Just why?
  • If the phone is idle for 2-3 hours after opening you will have to go through the 5-10 messages about failed delivery. Why not one?


Poor craftsmanship. And devs at apple earn 400k per year...
