Apostrophes are multimedia characters in 11.0.3.

Just updated to 11.0.3. And suddenly my phone is treating apostrophes like multimedia characters. My boyfriend has android so my texts are limiting to 70 characters if I use an apostrophe and going through in pieces. Anyone know how I can fix this??
