Problem with night shift flickering on/off

Hello,

This is my first post on here so hope I am doing everything correctly.

I recently noticed that night shift was not working correctly on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 12 inch, early 2015) iOS version 10.13.

So I checked to make sure that it was turned on, it is, and is configured to schedule "sunset to sunrise". All is ok it is working, however, it sometimes switches on and then switches off again. Imagine it sort of flashing but every 15-20 seconds with normal display the dominant one. (Location services is on)

Now, I do not know if this is due to the recent update "High Sierra" that I have installed or since I got the anti-reflective coating problem fixed on my MacBook 2-3 weeks ago, where somehow, the person who handled my computer might have done something to affect the night shift display.

Does anyone else encounter this problem? If so, please let me know if you have a solution.

For the record, I noticed the issue today for first time, on a macbook pro retina 13'', early 2015.

Keeps switching randomly between night and day mode.

Update: I did a PRAM reset and it seems stable now. Will update if it happens again.

I have the same problems, same MBP. I reboot solves the problem for a while. Problem also happens when using flux.

I have exactly the same problems. Same issue using f.lux.

It resolves itself for a while after a reboot. I have a strong suspicion that it has something todo with display color profiles.

I have a 13" 2015 mbp running on the latest High Sierra.

I'm having this issue, too. Also on Higher Sierra. I guess it's time to go back to Flux.

Hi Gus!

I am having the exact same issue on my 2015 MacBook Pro Retina 15". Night Shift would flicker on and off. Started happening after I upgraded to High Sierra. Recent 10.13.1 update did not fix this problem.

yes, same here. and can confirm that the 10.13.3 release also does not fix this issue. really frustrating. definitely seems to be related to night shift as it flickers back and forth between the day and night color temperatures.

at least it's not the motherboard! (i hope)

People who have problems with Night Shift on High Sierra are reporting f.lux having the same issues.

Another thing I noticed. Night Shift starts flickering when I open gmail.com in chrome. I don't know if it's really related, but I did notice this 5-6 times already.
