Hi everyone, I bought the new Apple TV 4K and I put it in a cabinet where I’ve got an AV matrix that sends all my sources on all my tvs. I’ve a problem with the apple remote, because it works only if i’m near the Apple TV (through bluetooth). If I use IR repeater doesn’t work. Why? Where is the ir sensor on Apple TV?

The black remote doesn't use IR. You can use one of the old silver remotes (as with the ATV3 and earlier - right) - obviously this won't include the Siri facility; or some programmable remotes can provide the IR codes ('One For All' call it 'Apple digital Media').

silver i.r. codes do not work, i had to learn a samsung bd dvd remotes codes into the 4k atv in order to use my processor/emitters/etc. this can't be for real? nothing in settings to turn i.r. on/off. i know codes for 1&2 or diff than 3 & 4 but what gives?
also, 4k atv's led does not blink when i.r. is shot at it (either any remote by hand or via an emitter like gen 4 does). again, my programming is same as it controls 4th gen via processor/emitter. swap it out & nothing on 4k, i have feedback on emitter, 4th gen works so what it up you think?
The IR receiver is assumedly on the front, it would be kinda silly to have it anywhere else.
