iTunes crashes when PC is connected to the internet (Exception code, 0xC0000005)

I have been using iTunes for several years, however recently I have been unable to open iTunes while connected to the internet without the program crashing stating;

"iTunes 12.7.0.166 has crashed. A minidump file has been created in the following location:"

When I open the minidump file in Visual Studio, I am presented with the error;

"Exception code 0xC0000005"

"The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access"

When I disable the internet adapter, iTunes opens and runs normally, but once it connects to the internet it crashes and I get the error.

I am an administrator, and I have run iTunes as an administrator, but I get the same error.

I have reinstalled, updated drivers, and searched for solutions. I have disabled my anti-virus (Kaspersky), and checked that my RAM is not corrupted or damaged.

My PC is a custom built desktop:

i5 4690K,

16GB DDR3 (4 x 4GB),

R9 390 8GB,

And I am running Windows 10, Version 1703.

(Side note, I have also recently moved into university accommodation. The across accommodation and campus wifi is eduroam, incase that helps.)

null-OTHER, Windows 10

Not an issue I've personally had to tackle. I'm assuming you cannot disable or configure the proxy yourself? Judging from this post it looks like this issue arises when the proxy tries to intercept all traffic not just http/https: Re: iTunes 12.7 javascriptcore.dll crash again!!! Perhaps you could add an exception in the default browser to bypass any configured proxy for *.apple.com ?

Or perhaps something in here will help: Fix Windows proxy settings to connect to the iTunes Store - Apple Support.
