Partition unrecoverable/ Lost Space

So I recently installed Windows 10, everything went fine until I attempted to switch back to OSX, it said there was no bootcamp to access. Scared, I decieded to restart in disk utility, delete the windows partition I created and reboot into OSX. Everything seemed fine until I noticed that the partition was still there but I could not access it. I completely wiped the hard drive and reboot OSX to no avail. I've checked forums and watched videos but nothing seems similar to my case. I cant use boot camp either due to: The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows.


I also can't use disk utility to revert the space back to the original 500gb that I had because if I erase it via disk utility, the space is still there. I've tried fixing it via terminal but unsure of exactly what I should do. I did get this far:


I'm not sure what I did or how to fix it but I definitely learned to not install windows. Thought I knew enough how to do it apparently not.

Okay, so after completing the first three tasks you asked me to do, should I continue with diskutil eraseVolume fat32 BOOTCAMP diskos3 and then follow the prompts with BC Assistant? Here is the output:

Dear Loner T, I'm in the same boat, I've seen you post this Terminal fix in other places, but I don't follow it all. Your expertise would be much appreciated.


(I wonder if this is a bit of a bug, it seems that BC doesn't like the switch to APFS, and BC no longer has a remove Windows partition command, or at least I don't get that option. But I do accept that my monkeying around with Disk Utility was not a good idea either!)
