Calculator widget auto populates 26.2166 every time it's opened

Since I've upgraded to High Sierra, the calculator widget ALWAYS auto populates with the value 26.2166 every time it is opened. If you open it after a cold boot, it will automatically start with 26.2166 in the sum field. If you zero that out and start clean, if the today panel closes for any reason (click into another window. on the desktop, anything), when you reopen the today panel, it resets to 26.2166 - losing any persistent memory. This seems like a stupid little thing, but not having a working calculator on a modern computer is crazy pants. Is there a fix or is it a flat-out bug?

Operating specs:

OS: 10.13

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Late 2016)

2.6 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 2133 MHz LPDDR3
