iPhone is disabled for 1 hour

Okay, this is kind of a joke.

I have an iPhone 6. The touch ID randomly isn't really working anymore ever since last night. Sometimes it does, most times it doesn't. But it's almost as if it doesn't recognise I'm trying to unlock the phone at all. Anyway.

I was trying to do a soft reboot of the phone (or? whatever you call it. When you hold the lock and home button so you force the phone to restart). I had never had any troubles with this in the past. The apple logo appeared just as it should have and the phone started back up.

As I went to unlock it and clicked the home button, it tells me the iPhone is disabled for an /hour/. Randomly and without me doing anything prior to it except for the restart.

Can't contact Apple directly about this problem anymore either, which. Well.

If anyone has a solution for this or at least knows what could have caused it, I would be super thankful! I'm trying to get to bed and would like to set an alarm on my phone for tomorrow, which isn't possible at the moment.

Thanks!

iPhone 6, iOS 11.0.3

Hi lenkanor,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Community. I understand that your iPhone is disabled and you're unable to set a passcode.

In order to get around the passcode you'll either need to wait the amount of time showing on the screen or erase the iPhone using the following steps: If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled

Once you're able to get back in to your iPhone, you'll want to troubleshoot your Touch ID. It seems like the button isn't working properly. You may want to turn off Touch ID, then turn it back on again and test it out. I recommend to take a look through the following info for help with Touch ID, up to and including contacting Apple Support for assistance: Get help with Touch ID on your iPhone or iPad
Cheers!
