NBC sports and WatchESPN reauthenticate issue

I just upgraded to the iPhone 8plus and anytime I try to watch anything live on the espn or nbc sports apps it gives me a message that says “unable to play video, need to Reauthenticate”. I have tried logging out and back in with my cable provider info and uninstalled and reinstalled the apps but I still keep getting this message. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have the same issue on an iPhone SE while trying to watch a game on NBCSN Chicago. I went to m desktop and signed in on Google Chrome, got the same message but then it automatically went through a re-authentication process and the game came up.

Were you able to get past this? I am Trialing SlingTV and getting this same message on WatchESPN. I have tried many things.

Try going to Settings | TV Provider and maybe sign out there and back in.

Beyond that I would contact the App Developers as this wouldn't be anything Apple would be able to help with. Any problems with third party apps need to be handled by the developers directly.
