I received a pop up saying my iPad Pro was infected by a virus

I was in Facebook this morning when a popup came up saying my iPad was infected with a virus. User uploaded file

Should I worry about this?

If it won’t go away, and you were using Safari when you saw it, force close safari by double tapping the home button ad flicking the preview off the screen. Then you can go into the settings, safari and delete your browsing history.

For good measure you can force your ipad to reboot by holding down the sleep and home keys for 20 seconds or so. WHen you see the silver apple, let go and let it reboot.

That should clear your cache.


If it is a malicious ad then it may reappear if you revisit that site. If it does you may wish to consider not using that site again since they are not taking much care with the ads they dish up.
