Is there a way to uncompress a mp3 file on logic pro x?

I have downloaded a .mp3 file online and wanted to create a remix for it. When opening it in logic pro x it appears as one single track. Is there an specific way to open it so each part is separate or is it a different kind of file?

Standard audio files are "mixed", you have the stereo file of the final mix and there is no way to get the individual tracks of that mix when this file was created. Sometimes, artist release individual tracks or group of tracks (called "Stems") so their fans can try their own version.


There was an initiative a while ago to make that a standard, called "DJ Stems". I haven't heard much about it lately, so I don't know if it still exists.
