My 12" Macbook which is still under warranty, seems to have developed a cluster of dead pixels. Still works fine, but an eye sore for sure. For this reason, I would like to return it to have it fixed. My question is: does Apple replace the screen for a cluster of dead pixels under the warranty? I don't want to unnecessarily send my laptop up for two weeks..

Basically, it just says to bring the Mac to an Apple Store “genius” bar for a free diagnosis (an AASP may charge a fee): https://support.apple.com/contact
Based on other people's experiences posted online, it sounds like it's quite subjective, that it depends on the opinion of the "genius," and maybe what kind of mood s/he is in, so be polite but firm in asking for a repair.
I don't want to unnecessarily send my laptop up for two weeks..
Personally, I've never had an Apple Store repair, including a screen replacement on a MacBook Air, take anywhere near as long as 2 weeks.
