Unknown characters replacing "i"

I've been chatting with friends and a lot of us seem to have the same issue on our iOS 11 phones right now, in that the "i" key is continuously replaced in text with an A ! or A and unknown character. Is anyone else experiencing this? I spent over an hour trying to remedy the situation with Apple Support, but I think the issue is far larger than just my phone since others are dealing with this irritant. Any ideas on how to remedy this, or can I expect an update to undo the bug? See photo of chat with Apple Support after trying everything as far as Dictionary Reset, Phone Reset, Predictive text off, etc...

I’ve been having the same problem and it’s been driving me crazy! The “I” shows up weird when writing on Facebook or Snapchat only. After reading this thread, I went to look at the predictive text, to turn it off. Mine has been off the whole time. I went to my settings-general-keyboard- text replacement and added the shortcut for “i” with “i “ seems to be working fine for me now.
