I lost my AirPods at the gym. I'm hoping these AirPods are locked to my account, similar to Find my iPhone. Because if I can't use them, then at least the thief who took them can't use them either.

No, AirPods do not have Activation Lock like the iPhone does. A finder could pair them to their iPhone, unfortunately.

What if I can prove I own them? The serial number should be tied to my account, right? Can I or should I notify Apple?
