Unlock iPhone X without swiping

On the previous iPhones with Touch ID, we were able to unlock our phone without pressing the home button after getting recognized by Touch ID.

I’m missing this feature on the new IPhone X with Face ID. I would love to be able to unlock my phone without swiping up.

What do you guys think about this?

Dude, you don't tell me what I can or can't do. Get it Dude? As to your point about this being a community board. You've got this all wrong. Yes, it's called Apple Discussions. But it's not a debate chat group. It's sole purpose is for people who have issues to have a place where other users can help them. Ask a question, find a solution. It's in the TOU you agreed to when you joined the forum. So no Dude, this is not a debate forum. If you want one of those, I'm sure they're out there, but you've got it all wrong with this one. And there is no reason to debate this topic. iPhone X is operating as designed, so if you or anyone else doesn't like it, leave feedback for Apple or go to another platform. We don't care.

Seems the advise is all one-way, given you just contradicted your own advise.

I appreciate the pointer early in the thread to the apple suggestion site, and took it. And, I get that the community here can't fix the problem.

What I don't get or appreciate is the judgemental, preachy and sarcastic response to people who were trying to clarify whether there was a way to achieve what they are seeking. Rbrylawski is guilty of this especially, along with Allan Eckert, echoing their own views and deriding the newcomers.

It's clear Apple isn't here, because the discourse from this "support community" with the tagline "we don't care" doesn't live up to their ideals.

The Terms of Use to which we all agreed when we registered are pretty clear about the fact that this is a user-to-user support forum. Apple's participation here is minimal. If you wish to get support from Apple, use the Contact Support link at the top right of every page.

Disagreeing with someone is, despite what you might have been told, not the same as deriding them.

Except for Host's who monitor the posts for acceptable content. Otherwise, you are correct, Apple isn't reading these posts.

Even the hosts don't monitor, unless a post has been reported to them for review. Anyone with 150 points or more can report a post for review. A host will then look at it, and decide if it violates ToU, and may take no action, edit it, or hide it.

I get the point about your answer, and i agree to. But in the matters of fact you still have to wait about a seconfd before the scrreen turn on and recognise face. I the case of touch id you can just pick up your phone while touching the id. Than after its arrieved in front of your eyes u can just do your job tap it right away.

🙂 i hope this answer can help.

Surprised about these emotions. Anyway; thought these devices are about continuous improvement. If in the past user would need 2 actions, now I would expect single action (look at the device). How difficult can it be to add that option to the settings of Face ID. Than someone that would like to stay as it is today, can still do that

Does apple read these, or still to report somewhere else?
