It used to easy to be able to do this. Just right click on the song, tell it to duplicate it and there you go. Now, when you right click click, the duplicate option is gone. What happened? I've looked all over iTunes and, if it still exists, I'm missing it. Please help if you know the answer.

You can convert any kind of music file to another kind like MP3 to WAV. If you change your import settings, your newly converted file will be whatever you set it to. So, if your import setting is WAV, it will convert the file in question to a WAV file. If you highlight a file and click on file at the top, it will say File>Convert>Create WAV version.
You're right. There wasn't a 'duplicate" command. You could, however, right click on a track and create an AAC, MP3, AIFF, WAV or Apple Lossless version based on your import settings in iTunes. It looks like that option has been taken away. Your answer does solve my problem, and I appreciate it.

I actually don't remember a Duplicate command for tracks in the library. But you can do essentially the same thing by highlighting the track and choosing File > Convert > Create AAC version.
If you want to create an exact copy of a track without re-encoding it then right/ctrl/two-finger click the track and tap Show in Finder. Select the file and copy with Cmd+C. Go to the Automatically Add to iTunes folder inside your iTunes Media folder and use Cmd+V to paste. The newer copy will have the newer Date Added value.
