Spotlight on MacOS High Sierra doesn't respond first time

I'm wondering if anyone else is having this issue.

I recently upgraded to MacOS High Sierra on my MacBook Air (11-inch, early 2014). When I call up Spotlight with the keyboard shortcut (⌘ - spacebar), Spotlight doesn't appear the first time. Almost every time, I have to hit the shortcut again to get it to open. (I don't know if this is relevant to the problem, but I'm using an external Apple extended keyboard connected via USB through a Thunderbolt Display.)

This doesn't happen every time, but often enough to be a minor annoyance that's getting to be a major one. Anyone else having this problem? Did you manage to solve it?

FWIW, you have too much installed and running for a 4GB Mac. Plus you need to uninstall Bitdefender and CleanMyMac. Both are known to cause problems.

Quick update: the problem seems to have gone away for now on its own. I may send them some feedback like npydyuan did.

I have this problem too. It's driving me crazy.

Happening on a clean install of High Sierra on a 2011 Mac Air.

I have 3 Macs running HS, my son has another 4, none of them exhibit this behavior.

Turning off Siri completely fixed it for me. Thanks for the lead!
