I’m used to spam calls from my own area code. Now, somehow, I am getting them fro phone area codes of my frequent calls. I have an east coast number. Recently, I’ve had a lot of calls to SoCal 951 area code and now I’m getting spam calls from that area code. I’ve had my iPhone checked for spyware and found nothing. . How the **** can spammers access my call history to see what area codes my calls frequent?
This is a fairly common problem and there is really no perfect solution.
One thing that might help is to get a new number and deal with the initial inconvenience that would cause. There is no guarantee however with that approach.
Another thing to consider is to use an app that intercepts such calls.
They can't access your call history. This may be a coincidence. Most spam calls come from arbirarily dialing phone numbers. It may also be the same caller using different dialing numbers.
I think it's entirely possible (and actually more likely than spyware on iOS) that they have an insider at your telco who's selling them info.
It’s a very strange coincidence. I work all over the country so I am calling people in every state and without fail the spammers called me from numbers that my frequent outgoings match and it changes as i change calling locations.
I wouldn’t doubt it. I know for a fact it is not spyware. I have a programmer friend at Apple who thoroughly checked my phone out.
I find it funny that I need a notorized affidavit to get a certified copy of my own call history but any criminal can get access for a few $$
