I just imported a bunch of videos from my GoPro Hero 6 to my MacBook Pro. I am running all the latest updates including MacOS High Sierra. When I open up Final Cut and attempt to import, some of the videos are greyed out and will not let me click on them to import while some I am able. I do not understand. They are all in .mp4 format. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Like Tom said, HEVC is coming in FCP X 10.4, which has been announced and will be released later this year.
In the meantime, you can easily convert to H264 or ProRes and use them in FCP X.

Can you open one of the GX files in the QuickTime player and report what it says in the inspector window? If that doesn’t work try an application like Media Info or Media Inspector to get specific information about the files.
The ones that will not allow me to import are 4K HEVC...I am running the free trial...do you need to purchase full version to import HEVC files?
HEVC isn’t not supported in the current version of FCP, but will be in an upgrade before the end of the year.
Yes all the files work in QuickTime player. The thing I notice is that the files that start with GX do not appear to have a duration, start and stop time when looked at in Final Cut Pro. However, I am able to play the whole file in QuickTime.
The only thing I can see is that the GoPro videos that start with GH allows me to import while the ones that start with GX do not allow me to import.
