Hi there,
I just got the iPhone X on Saturday and I've noticed that I when I unlock my screen (using the passcode), there is a black loading screen that shows up sometimes for a few seconds and then reverts back to the lock screen where I have to unlock again.
I have already tried resetting all settings. Then I tried a factory reset and the issue still persisted.
Anyone facing a similar issue or has a fix? Thanks.

I have an iPhone SE and have been experiencing the same problem the last couple days. I do not have any kind of passcode set up, so when I press the home button to unlock my screen, it sometimes shows a black loading screen. Occasionally it will make me unlock my screen a second time and still have the black loading screen. No idea what is causing it, but I've tried resetting and setting it up as a new iPhone as well as restore from back-up and am still having the same issue.
It is a shame to pay so much money and support Apple for so many years and this is happening.
With no reason at all, this just started to occur to my brand new iPhone X.
Restart, reboot, shutdown, update, back up, reset settings nothing works ..
It is a shame for me PERSONALLY to feel that I have paid so much money and have something that DOES NOT WORK .
It’s being caused by not having face recognition on. If you turn it on it stops, I opened a ticket with apple so they can resolve the issue. The face recognition tries to trigger even tho you have it off that’s why the black loading screen.
Having the same issue.. sometimes multiple times in a row where I am entering passcode 3 or 4 times before I get in.. so annoying especially when I’m trying to get to my camera quickly to capture a moment
same situation here. was on an app, and my phone autolocked after a minute and when i let in the passcode, it shows a black loading screen that runs for a couple of seconds then throws me back to the lock screen and i have to unlock again. i first thought it was the app i opened but it keeps happening even when i'm on home screen, autolocks and black loading page. it seriously is getting really frustrating.
I am having the same issue. Since day one. It happens to me numerous times throughout the day. I already talked to tech support and couldn't help me. They advised me to take the phone into the apple store.
They couldn’t figure it out. I took my phone into the Apple store yesterday and i showed them what it was doing and without question they swapped it out for a new one. It was also starting to get super hot btw
I took it to the Apple Store and they said to update it to the latest software (one came out like an hour before I went) and that if it happens again, bring it back.
It did happen again, so I started to see if it would happen with face unlock and I haven’t seen the issue since.
I assume it’s a bug with the passcode unlock so I haven’t brought it back yet as there are no other issues with the phone and I don’t see the black loading screen anymore. I hope they address it though.
I’m Having the same trouble with my iPhone 6s and it’s still new. At first I thought it was related to an app but then it kept happening. I tried force closing all the apps and restarting the phone; it just delayed the whole process. At the start it would do that every 1 minute. Now it’s every 2-3 minutes or so. Very very very frustrating.
This is happening to me too, but i got my phone around a month ago and it just started doing that. It’s really annoying, especially when I’m doing something it’ll happen and I would have to start everything over again
Update to 11.2 to resolve this issue
When you did a factory reset did you restore from backup or did you set up as new?
I set up as new iPhone.

Same issue here, getting worse everyday. Restore and set up as new iPhone doesn't work. Hope someone can chime in on this issue.
