email hyperlinks not working after High Sierra upgrade

Solved:

1. Open Safari Setting and change Safari to be the default browser

2. Close all Chrome instances, and reopen Chrome

3. When chrome asks you to set Chrome back to default: choose chrome to be the default browser.

Solved.

This happened to me when Chrome updated silently but needed a restart.

Just select the Chrome > About Google Chrome menu option and check if this is the case.

It worked for me.

Got the answer! Just update Chrome. I just did it and links in email now open in Chrome, just like in the good old days.

After initially singing the praises of this fix, it has continued to be a problem even after trying the first solution. I have found a work around that works in Outlook. I click on the name of the person or company the email is from. It opens in my clipboard. I can then open the email from there and all the links work. Hope this helps.

Ya, me too, it worked for a week and then boom, back to the same problem. I am going to check to see if perhaps there is now another new version of Chrome that I have to update to...this is going to be ridiculous if I have to do this everytime there is a new version of my browser.

Guess it's too much to ask for Apple to actually read these forums and make changes...but a girl can have a dream...

I use Firefox. What finally solved the problem was an option at Firefox called Refresh which is an alternate to upgrading as I had the most contemporary version. Once I took that step, the hyperlinks have worked fine.
