Hi Tom,
like I wrote above I made the compound clip of the outro, but I still can't paste it at the end of the other main clip.. help please
Let's try to make this simple, shall we?
You have the main project's timeline in front of you, right?
Forget copy and paste. You have the compound clip of the outro in your browser, right? DRAG it to the end of the timeline. Done. Or (better!): in the browser, select the full compound (if you have a yellow selection of only part, press X to select it all), and just press E.
Select the compound clip. Cmd-V. Place skimmer/playhead where you want. Opt-V. Done.
Please give a step by step with screenshots of what you're doing. You can also, as Luis said, drag the compound into the timeline above the clips that are there and drop it as a connected clip.
Hi Tom,
Im copying from the same editing page. I made an outro that i want to paste after my maim video. I'd like to take posts but my final cut trial just ended after i posted this lead. Do you know if i can recover my work after buying it? Some friends told me adobe premiere was better..
Your work is completely separate from the application. You don't lose anything created in the trial version.
Whatever you're most comfortable using is the best. I've used NLEs for more than 30 years. For freedom and creativity FCP is the best by far. If you're working in Hollywood you need to use Avid. Everything in between is a waste of time.
Thanks for your reply. I checked NLE it looks like a great software indeed , but I'm using mac so it looks like I have to get Fcp. I'll send of the pics of my issue with the outro when i'll buy the software ..very soon.
I made the outro compound clip. should I do the same with the other clip to enable them to be glued together?
I have another question ..is it possible to isolate the sound track to mix it ( or export it on logic)? the sound goes down in the middle of the video.. Thanks
Where are you copying from? Where are you pasting to? Post screenshots of what’s happening in the application.
Hi Tom,
I bought final cut. I took a pic of the screen of my work. I want to put the outro atthe end of the video you see in the index. It doesn't allow it when I drag it
You did not post the picture. To post an image click the little camera button above the text entry area and select the desired file.
You can’t put one project inside another. Open the outro and make a compound clip of the contents. You can drag the compound clip from the browser into the project you want to put it in.
No. You don’t make a compost nd clip of Outro. You make a compound clip of the contents. Open Outro in the timeline. Select everything. Make the compound clip.
That’s not necessary. You can just attach the compound to the content of the other project.
Post a new question in a separate thread. It helps with searches.
