how does one move songs from one playlist to another ?

Itunes has placed songs into its own playlists -- collections that don;t make much sense to me. So, if I create new playlists in my library how do I move songs from existing playlists to the new ones? and if I do this, does the product

maintain the ITunes media files on my Windows 10 64 pro?
