iPhone 8+ makes bad noise when home button is touched

Have you dropped your phone before having the problem? My 8+ started to make the same noise the second day after I dropped my phone from waist-height. And I wonder if the drop caused the issue.

Well, thx for your reply. What you said is possible. But I don’t think the abnormal voltage is strong enough to mess up the circuit board of home button in most cases. It could also be the design flaw of 8plus.

I also just started experiencing this issue... every time I press the home button or apply heavy pressure to the screen. I have not cracked or dropped my phone it just started happening randomly. Please someone tell me how to fix it.

So my iPhone 8 just started making a strange noise today. It’s not a clicking noise, mine truly sounds like the “buzzer” used in the game of Taboo or when you hit the sides in the game of Operation! I tried shutting it down, tried the silence, I didn’t drop it-so that isn’t what caused my issue, I made a call and the people on the other end can actually hear it too! What the heck?!?

I have the same problem... I dropped it off of my table outside and it started making a weird sound. Best way to describe it is like a trapped insect. My friend said I could of possibly knocked the tumbler loose which makes sense, but it’s Very annoying. I have an iPhone 8+ and I’ve only had it since Christmas last year so I don’t understand why it would be “bugging” out on me so soon.

My brand new iPhone 8 (barely 2 months old) has begun doing the same thing. I woke up one morning and was doing my normal morning app routine and double clicked the home button and it made an awful buzzing/beeping sound (more intense than the one you gave an example of) and it’s continued to do so every time I click the home button and now even sometimes when clicking on just the screen. It’s very aggravating!!! I have never dropped my phone nor has any damage ever been done to it and already it’s causing me problems. If anyone has any solution that doesn’t consist of me paying even more money to apple for this **** phone please help!!

After some diagnosis at the Applestore, it was determined that the iPhone was defective and they replaced the iPhone. Was two weeks prior to the warranty expiration , dodged a bullet!! Thanks Apple for standing behind your product!!

I've already had one 8+ replaced by apple which had major hardware issues from the start.

Sameee! It happened to me at work it almost sounded like the sound was coming from the speaker so strange

Did you find out the cause and how did you fix it? Just happened to me.

My new 8+ does it too. I thought at first it was the casing causing it. I took of the case and it still clicks. I tried rebooting and when the phone is off, it doesn’t click. Ugh.

This already happened to me! I didn’t drop my 8+ and I always used apple charge and now every time is making that sound. Did someone find the solution?
