iPhone X - screen won't turn off

I have the same issue. I have to hard reset my iphone everyday, and it will "fix" the problem for a short period, but problem will come back a day (max) later. I have just tried the "turn off the passcode" trick, will see how it goes.

Apple, PLEASE find a permanent fix to this problem. I have brought my iPhone X to the Apple Store, and they told me it was my screen protector that's causing the problem (which I highly doubt).

Well, as others have experienced, it went away after a restart. Now, 48 hours later it’s doing it again....

Mine will not shut off either... when I restart it seems to work for awhile but the issue keeps returning. If iDemon is right and they need to replace everyone's iPhone... that is a huge problem.

Same exact problem is happening to me. Screen won’t turn off unless I press the sleep/wake button. Issue goes away after a reboot. Then everything is fine for a day or so. Then, back to square one. What is Apple saying about this? Is it software or hardware related? If hardware, are they replacing these faulty iPhone Xs?

I’m having the same issue. New iPhone X, if I touch the screen to wake but don’t unlock it, it simply sits there and never turns off. Have not tested with other notifications yet. Will also shut down and restart now.

There has to be another way. I cannot use this option as mine is a work phone and due to security protocols I cannot remove the passcode. My phone is chewing 25-60% a day just sitting on my desk. I shouldn't have to charge my phone during the day when it has minimal usage. Boo!

I had a mixed alphanumeric pass code and had the problem. My wife continued on with her numeric passcode and didn't experience any problems.

Exactly! My issue, just as described above. I woke up, night after night with my iPhone X under plane mode, with my battery down by at least 10%, whereas my previous iPhone 7 Plus just used 1-2% of its battery charge throughout a night. An Apple advisor suggested trying to switch off True Tone, etc. just in case... to no use. Hopefully, before a multi-night ordeal trying all the potential battery suckers, I came across (thanks to my wife's suggestion) this trend and tried iDemon's simple but totally unsuspected solution, which proved instantly successful, and hopefully permanent. I was on the verge of returning my almost-one-week-old iPhone X in despair, doubly disappointed after its claiming 2 extra hours' battery yield than its predecessors. Thanks, iDemon!

I have the same issue. I've tried resetting all settings and it worked for a day or two. But now it's back to staying on after receiving any notification.

I have the same exact issue. My screen stays on unless I press the button. At first I thought it was only me. But reading all of this reassured me I was right.

SO, this is not a hardware related issue right? It is software related, i guess. No updates so far!!!

Ok... two days after installing the updates, it's no longer fixed. Also I don't have the ability to turn off my passcode like others have suggested, so I'm throwing my hands up.
