The USB ports on my MacBook Air suddenly stopped working. I've tried both reset tricks suggested--PRAM and something else whose initials I don't remember, but they still don't work.

Both USB ports on my MacBook Air suddenly stopped working. I've tried both fixes I found online--resetting the PRAM and resetting the SMC but neither worked. I'm not using cheap cables or anything else like that. What other options do you suggest?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

USB 3.0 Bus:H

USB 3.0 Bus:

PCI Device ID: 0x9cb1

PCI Revision ID: 0x0

PCI Vendor ID: 0x8086 Hi, I tried safe mode and the same thing happens. The devices I plug in--external hard drives, iPhone, etc.-- seem to "connect"--the hard drives show power--but the machine is not reading any thing. Anyone else have other suggestions?
