Not sure of the location of the point where it has 'popped up' but does it still work. Can you check the battery situation. Could be a bad battery expanding? Get it into an Apple store for evaluation A.S.A.P.

I'm not hopeful, Samlmoir. I doubt it can be repaired but in any event, unless you can get it back to the store you will never know what happened. It could be something you failed to do, something you won't want to repeat with your next machine.
Nasty. Can you get it into an Apple store. But when I say battery, I'm only guessing. I assume it doesn't work.
