macOS disappear after upgrade to Windows 10 Fall Creator

After I updated to Windows 10 Fall Creator edition, the macOS (High Sierra 10.13.1) has disappeared from the start menu and in the Boot camp control panel.

So far I have found out:

If I'm starting the Internet Recovery Mode (Cmd-Option-R), exit, and holding Option down while booting, I again have the option to start macOS and Windows 10.
If I start Windows 10, open the Boot camp control panel the macOS is gone so I can't select macOS as the default startup option. When opening the Boot camp control panel I'm asked if I will allow Boot camp control panel to make changes to the computer. If I answer no, the Boot camp control panel is not opened.
If I start Windows 10 and not open the Boot camp control panel, I can close Windows and boot in macOS by holding Option down while booting.
If I start Windows 10 and open the Boot camp control panel, I can only start again in either Windows 10 or Internet Recovery Mode.

Looks like the update to Windows 10 Fall Creators version doesn't work well with High Sierra and Boot camp control panel.

My Mac is a MacBook 12" early 2015 version.

Do you have any ideas about how to being able to get macOS as default OS again and keep High Sierra and the Fall Creators version?

If you have High Sierra and APFS on your Mac, Bootcamp control can no longer see the macOS partition to restart.

From macOS Terminal, post the output of

diskutil list

There are two settings - next boot and default boot. They can be different, but the current Alt/Option method makes no distinction between the two. The NVRAM reset cleans up both.

In versions prior to HS with a broken Bootcamp.exe Start up your Mac in Windows or macOS - Apple Support .

Thanks Loner - looks like you know what you're talking about, so I'll just have to wait for an update of the boot camp control panel.

Just strange that I only got the issue yesterday after updating Windows 10, but it may be that I haven't opened the boot camp control panel since I updated to High Sierra and therefore it didn't mess with my default boot OS until yesterday.

I'm uncertain about whether I have used the boot camp control panel since the HS upgrade (until after the W10 FCU upgrade yesterday).

So that may be why I haven't got the problem before yesterday and that I linked it to the W10 FCU.

For now I'm just happy that the Internet Recovery Mode made it possible to at all select the macOS when booting. Before opening and exiting the IRM I couldn't select macOS when holding Option down while booting.

I'll have to be patient and wait for an update of boot camp.

The NVRAM reset start-up partly solves the problem.

Using that the mac starts up using the macOS and after that I don't have to hold the Option-key down when I want to boot to macOS again.

However if I use the Option key to start up to Windows 10, next time I reboot, the Option key doesn't work and the computer starts up directly in Windows 10.

Then I of course can do another NVRAM reset to start up using macOS.

I couldn't see any effect of doing a SMC reset.

You can use only Alt/Option during restart to switch the OS. Bootcamp.exe is not currently working, till an update becomes available.

Did the the Bootcamp control work at all after HS upgrade, but prior to the Fall CU update?

Given the current layout, the HS upgrade breaks the current Bootcamp.exe, not the W10 FCU.

Under normal use, you should not need IR to switch between the two OSes. Using Alt/Option during reboot should be sufficient. Can you run a NVRAM and SMC Reset and test normal booting and Alt/Option?
