I have bought a new ipad from a friend but there is no receipt. Is it possible to buy Apple care for this new ipad? Do I have the standard 1 year Apple garantee?

AirPort Express 802.11n (2nd generation), iOS 10.3, New in box

The warranty dates from the date of original purchase from Apple.
