What happened to the do not disturb indicator on the iPhone X? The crescent moon does not show up.

What happened to the do not disturb indicator on iPhone X. It not longer shows the crescent moon in the status bar. Can that be turned on ? I often put my phone on do not disturb and sometimes forget I did it.

iPhone X, iOS 11.1

I can confirm, as I've got an X, that it is indeed true -- the crescent moon Do Not Disturb icon does not show up on Scheduled and on its own.

I can also confirm that it does work, despite the icon not showing. Mine is set to not disturb from 1900 to 0700 the following day, and even though the icon doesn't show, notifications do not come through during that time.

Ditto - Apple please add the DND moon symbol next to the time display on the home screen. We need the ability to quickly look at the home screen and know if our phone is in DND or not without added commands - when going in to a meeting, conference or any quiet or private instance. thanks

I have the same issue and it is a serious problem. I missed messages because there is no indicator in the status icon area of the normal screens.

I know I can go in to control center and see the status but I have to remember to do that so it is not a solution.

I know I can schedule Do Not Disturb but that does not fit with my wake and sleep times. I am sometimes up very late and others to bed early. So, this is not a solution.

Apple, please add the half moon icon to the status area of the normal phone screen. Maybe have a settings option for simplifed (like it is on iOS 11.1.2) and a new “full” option that makes use of the high screen resolution to have 2 rows of status info if you cannot fit it on one. Then you can add back the battery % as well.

The way it is now makes the DND feature unusable and this is very disappointing for such an otherwise great phone.

There are a few ways around this. Put a time for DND on and off in the settings. Also pull down from the top right to see if it’s on by mistake. I miss the symbol on the home screen and also the battery percentage only shows up if you pull down from the top right.

It doesn’t look like there is enough room anymore with the notch and Face ID sensor. They would have to push the notch higher and make the area smaller to get more icons in there. Maybe wait for iPhone XI in 2 years time! 😄
