Question: Accidentally deleted iBooks from my phone

Hi!

I have this stupid habit of falling asleep while reading on my phone, and sometimes my fingers trail on the screen and do some funky stuff (I once liked a Harry Potter page on Facebook and started receiving hundreds of notifications, hahaha).

Last night I apparently deleted my iBooks app, which is nowhere to be found in my phone. Except that when I go to the app store to download it again, it simply opens. So it's obviously still on there, I just don't know where.

Any thoughts? I'd really like to have the app back on my home screen!

Cheers and thanks 🙂

If you have a computer with iTunes just plug in the device once you see your device pop up in iTunes go to the apps tab.. from there it will show you every app you have installed on that device and you will be able to move that app around. Should've thought of this before but it never came up in mind sorry I didn't expect you to have that many apps since you said you looked everywhere for iBooks.. 👎😬

I have! I looked EVERYWHERE. I don't actually have a ton of folders so it wasn't hard to look... I find iBooks in search but it's not like on a computer, it doesn't tell you where the app actually is, it just opens it. Urgh!!

That brought back my iBooks, thank you! But I had to spend 20 minutes reorganizing all my folders and somehow now another one of my apps is doing the same thing. It's nowhere to be seen, but it appears in search and I can open it from the app store. I have nooooo idea what's going on, and right now I don't have the courage to reset it all again, so if anyone has another suggestion on how to fix the issue? Thank you!

It's okay, I prefer that than losing my iBooks! For the other app (my banking app, which disappeared when I took it out of a folder when I was reorganising them), I tried simply restarting the phone and that actually worked, the app reappeared. I wonder what that weird bug is!

When I plug my phone and go into iTunes, I actually don't see my apps listed (see screen cap). I hate that program, I wish Apple would entirely redesign it, it never works well. Well at least the problem is solved now. Thank you for all your kind help Darkstar!
