Notes for High Sierra - change default font

I see that the default font for Notes (version 4.5 (863)) was changed in MacOS High Sierra from previous versions.

Is there a way to customise it? I tried a few solutions valid for older OS releases but none of them worked.

The fact is that it's clearly not San Francisco system font, like it was in Notes for Sierra.

You can see the font in the screenshot below: it has this italic-version 'a' char that does not belong to San Francisco, in both left column and note body.

FYI, the note has the default 'Body' style.
