upgraded MacBook to 11.0.1 and cannot open certain apps

Upgrading to Sierra 11.0.1 blocks usage of certain apps; You Version Bible, VLC language translation. I can use it on my phone but not my MacBook

Sorry Stuart, but this doesn’t work.

I had been using VLC to translate Hebrew words into verbal responses and it was working seamlessly. I have the latest VLC download. Now with the new Safari, you can't even open their webpage.

I also use You Version Bible. That doesn’t open on the new Safari either. It does open on Firefox.

To this layman, the new Safari is NOT backwards compatible. Apple is turning into MS more and more each day.

Many thanks Stuart, yet I suggest you try a better approach.

For millions and millions of people visiting millions and millions of websites, Safari 11.0.1 works seamlessly.

Two things are true: I just opened the You Version website with no problem, so it's not them, it's you.

And, this is a peer to peer help site, and I have no desire whatsoever to muddle through your attitude to try and help you.
