How do I stop text messages from showing on screen before I open?

Are you referring to the content of the message? If so, go to Settings>Notifications>Messages, and set Show Previews to Never. That way, the only thing you will see on the screen is a notification of the message.If you do not wish to see the notification on the lock screen, then turn off the switch for Show on Lock Screen.

With Previews off, the notification still includes the name of the sender. Is there any way to get a notification without ANY information from the text? I want to be notified, but I don’t want to see the message OR the sender.
