High Sierra compression bug

In order to remote control my PC at work, I need to run an old version of the mac Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) from Microsoft (v 2.0.1, year 2008). Why should I run such an old program? Well, ask VMWARE which force me to install this version of RDC with its latest VmWare View Client.

It worked however until I installed the last OSX update: High Sierra. Since then, the RDC stops with the following error codes

/BuildRoot/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/AppleFSCompression/AppleFSCompre ssion-96.1.1/Common/ChunkCompression.cpp:50: Error: unsupported compressor 8

/BuildRoot/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/AppleFSCompression/AppleFSCompre ssion-96.1.1/Libraries/CompressData/CompressData.c:353: Error: Unknown compression scheme encountered for file '/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/Exceptions.pl ist'

/BuildRoot/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/AppleFSCompression/AppleFSCompre ssion-96.1.1/Common/ChunkCompression.cpp:50: Error: unsupported compressor 8

/BuildRoot/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/AppleFSCompression/AppleFSCompre ssion-96.1.1/Libraries/CompressData/CompressData.c:353: Error: Unknown compression scheme encountered for file '/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Library/AppExceptions.b undle/Exceptions.plist'

I've seen googling aroud, that RDC v2.01 is not the only program impacted by this bug. My question is: is there a way out of this ?

Thanks for your (numerous) replies

I have the same issue whenever I launch IDLE of Python 2.7.

/BuildRoot/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/AppleFSCompression/AppleFSCompres sion-96.30.2/Common/ChunkCompression.cpp:50: Error: unsupported compressor 8

/BuildRoot/Library/Caches/com.apple.xbs/Sources/AppleFSCompression/AppleFSCompre ssion-96.30.2/Libraries/CompressData/CompressData.c:353: Error: Unknown compression scheme encountered for file '/System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources/Exceptions.pl ist'

This issue only started when I recently upgraded my MacBook Pro (2012) to macOS High Sierra 10.13.3 from El Capitan (10.11.6).

Despite all my google search, could not find any solution. I see this issue is affecting many other apps.

Looking forward to your explanation and hopefully resolution.

Thanks

Trying for days to install Adobe CS4 Master Collection CDs on a new Macbook Pro 13-inch 2017 running OSX High Sierra 10.3.3. Tried the workarounds suggested by Adobe support for Sierra 10.12 but installation still stops partway through with these same compression scheme problems "unsupported compressor 8", "unknown compression scheme encountered".

CS4 installed with no problem and ran just fine on the old 2012 Macbook Pro through a number of OSX upgrades, though I did not upgrade to High Sierra. Would it have been grandfathered in, or quit working?
