For some reason my Apple wireless keyboard has unpaired itself from my iMac, first time this has happened, and now I’m locked out of my iMac... Any ideas...?
I’ve changed batteries and checked the battery connection etc and that all seems fine... Do I need to borrow a USB keyboard to then be able to log back in and pair my Apple wireless keyboard?

If you have a friend who could lend you their wireless keyboard (it doesn't matter if it is not a Mac keyboard), you could try that. Not every aspect will work and they won't have the special 'N' keys on the top row, indeed, some may not work at all but there may be sufficient similarity to allow you to log in. Try it.
Always have a wired (USB) keyboard on hand, a wired mouse is wise too. Use If your Apple wireless mouse, keyboard, or trackpad isn't working as expected - Apple Support to troubleshoot your issue.

If you have a Walmart in your general area you can probably find a pair for about $20. It's a worthwhile investment when you have pesky problems like you are now.
