Can someone please explain when I only have 10 current messages in my inbox (I either move current messages into folders or trash them regularly) the bottom left hand corner of the Mail program reveals that the program is trying to download over 200 messages...? This slows down my Mac considerably.

Any suggestions?

I used to use Apple Mail and had POP, IMAP and Exchange accounts..... I don't really have any clue as to the differences (and hopefully someone who DOES will chip in!)

I know in one or two of the account settings (or maybe preferences) there was an option to delete from server when you delete from Mail. I think that was the POP one but not sure.

Suggest you have a look at preferences for each account and see if you can see anything similar..... but I wouldn't change anything just yet, post a bit about it here and hopefully a networking guru will help you!! 😉
