CPU issues with UAD plugins

Hello, I'm trying to use Mainstage 3 with my Apollo 8 and UAD plugins.

When I insert a UAD plug, my Mainstage CPU meter still charges. How come ?

Two other issues :

- When I insert the Lexicon 224 for example it adds 26ms, is that normal ?

- My CPU makes jumps and cuts audio once in a while with minor plugin configuration, it doesn't do it if I setup the same configuration in Ableton Live for example, with the same buffer settings, anything I'm missing ?

Thanks a lot

Hello, thanks for your answer.

Yes, I do it sometimes too, but the reason why I'm using other software like Mainstage of Live is to be able to use external Midi devices to control sends, levels, plugin settings for live mixing, which UAD console doesn't offer.

The latency I understand I read other topics about it, now about the CPU usage, is there some setting I didn't see to optimize CPU when I use UAD plugs ? There is not supposed to be any CPU raise when I insert them since they use Apollo external CPU. And it is working properly in other softwares, What am I missing ?

Please let me knowUser uploaded file

Thank you very much

Ok,

so what I'm trying to do is simple, I'm trying to save console settings in Patches, so this works good. I'm also trying to save (and recall) plugins settings in patches so when I go from one to the other, my reverb preset changes, or the length, or whatever.
What I did was create a concert, with inputs, outputs, etc, and patches with fx busses and sends and plugins, in this case a UAD lexicon reverb. When I duplicate my patch so I don't start from scratch again, it duplicates the plugin instance and loads the UAD DSP accordingly, so after 3 or 4 patches, I can't put any more of them....

So either I find a way to deactivate (bypass) the plugins when the patch is not loaded, or I find a way to automatize a preset change with a patch on a plugin I would have created at concert level.

What do you think ?

Thanks a lot

Hello,

Thanks, I thought it was a great idea, so I tried it right away. unfortunatly it works with all internal FXs but none of the UAD plugs nor waves or others... I tried to save other banks in various locations, including AudioMusicApps/Plug-ins settings/fxname, the location where all the internal fx presets are stored, but it won't regognize it when I try to assign the preset name range to my knob.....

I guess we tried pretty hard....

Thanks so much for your precious help anyway, I will try to work my way around it or maybe go back to the Ableton Live setup.

Thanks !
