I restarted my Mac wilst update was running??

I stupidly restarted my Mac book during an update. I now have no options to boot or reset??

try the other key combinations ad see if any of those will allow you to reinstall the OS. I would recommend Option-Command-R or Shift-Command-Option-R

Do you get ANYTHING when you startup? Sounds? Folder with a "?"? Anything at all? Will it boot to safe mode?

I can get Mac utilities. But restore from time machine isn't working, I don't have a copy of it to reinstall, or the disk utility won't allow me to restore either?

Yeh I did give that a go but unfortunately didn't want to work. It's like it just can't find anything to boot from.
