iTunes U to Podcast App RE:Playback speed

I had a few courses/books in the iTunes U app. They are now shown in the podcast area, but I am unaware of a way to alter the speed of playback in the podcast app. Does anyone know if there is a way or if a future update may include the variable speeds that are present in the iTunes U app?

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 11.1

There is a slide up screen at the botton of the app when an episode is playing. It brings up the pic in the lift of the image below. For regular episodes, you should see a 1x on the left just below the volume slider. Click it to cycle through other speed options. I hope iTunes U episodes are the same, but I don't listen to any.
