problem with message application

I am receiving messages but once I opened them the freeze and can not go back to the rest of the messages or I can not reply, this happened after I updated my I phone 6 plus S to iOS 11.1.1.

I tried to re-set the phone and Now I am getting blank page once tried to open the message application.

any Idea how to fix this soon.???

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. From your post, I understand that you are having trouble with the Messages app o your iPhone 6s Plus. Specifically, when you receive a message and open the app, Messages becomes unresponsive. You're not able to go back to all messages, and you can't reply. You restarted the iPhone, and now you're getting a blank page once the Messages app opens. I'm happy to help!

The first thing I would recommend would be to force close the Messages app: How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support . After the Messages app is force closed, restart the iPhone again: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support . Once the iPhone is back on, try accessing Messages to see if the issue persists.

If so, the next suggestion I have is to reinstall the iOS software, using the steps under the "Put your device in recovery mode and set it up again" section of If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support . Even though the title of the article is different than your issue, the steps to reinstall are the same and still relevant. Doing the reinstallation should not remove any data from your iPhone, but I encourage you to create a backup in iCloud or iTunes before you begin, just in case: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support .
