Wrong apple ID on messages on my MacBook

I entered the wrong apple id on my messages on my MacBook and i can't seem to figure out how to change it can someone help me?

Where exactly did you enter this incorrect Apple ID? What do you mean by "on my messages"?

Can you sign out if you go to Messages/Preferences/Accounts? Can you disable the account while in Account Preferences and sign in with the correct Apple ID?
