Upgraded to 10.13 and lost all the reminders I had entered. EVERYTHING! Can I recover this information?

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.1), Upgrade hell - AGAIN.

I never used iCloud. I wasn't on iCloud, and I don't want to use iCloud. I just downloaded the new OS software. Just for laughs I tried to correct using the method you described, but as I suspected there was no data on iCloud to restore, so the programs remain blank. I had entered all my data on these applications. The "upgrade" simply wiped Calendars and Reminders clean. My Contacts are still there, it appears to just be Calendar and Reminder that have been scrubbed of all the information I have collected and used since three iMacs ago, nearly 10 years worth of information. Birthdays, special events, deaths, appointments. Is there some other way to gain back what was taken?
