Hulu Groundhog Day (repeats program segments)

I have a pair of ATV4s and have just started using Hulu. Both ATVs have exhibited the same weird issue. Programs will randomly skip back to the previous program segment when an ad ends. There's no rhyme or reason to it. It's like Groundhog Day. An ad ends and I realize I'm rewatching the same segment of the program already seen. Then I must FF to the same ad break already viewed and hope that it doesn't repeat the program all over again.

I've done the usual stuff of restarting the ATVs and reloading Hulu but the problem persists. Not that it should matter but both ATVs are hard wired so that takes WiFi out of the equation. Honestly, I don't expect anyone to have a proven solution. I'm looking more to verify whether this is typical of Hulu on ATV.
