Apple watch

If I buy a used apple watch from a friend now and wrap for christmas, will the battery stay good?

Did not know if battery on them needs to stay periodically charged or if it will hold a charge when stored.

That will be fine. Apple suggests charging the battery to 50% before storing Apple Watch:
