My display setting won't hold after I installed High Sierra

I install High Sierra and now my display setting keeps resetting and I can't see the icon or fold because it's off the screen.

Your display’s resolution determines the size of text and objects on your screen. By default, the resolution on your display is set to show the sharpest text and the most detailed images. While it’s best to use the default resolution, you can manually set the resolution to make text and objects appear larger on your screen, or adjust it to make text and objects appear smaller so you have more space on your screen.

Depending on how you adjust the resolution, some app windows may not fit entirely on the screen. Using a scaled resolution may affect performance.

Check the box of default for display and uncheck the box of Scaled .

Run NVRAM / PRAM How to reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

NVRAM (nonvolatile random-access memory) is a small amount of memory that your Mac uses to store certain settings and access them quickly. Settings that can be stored in NVRAM include sound volume, display resolution, startup-disk selection, time zone, and recent kernel panic information. The settings stored in NVRAM depend on your Mac and the devices you're using with your Mac.

Yep, I understand the concept but what happens is when my computer goes to sleep and I wake it back up it is so large the icons and folders are off screen. I reset it to scaled or default (doesn't matter which one I chose) when it goes back to sleep the setting appear correct in the system setting but what is on the display is gone back to being so large you can't see it on the display. I posted a picture in another reply.
