Is it possible to change the default alert setting on Calendar? When I create a new event in Calendar now, the default setting is an alert when I need to leave. Can I change this default to be 30 minutes before and 1 hour before?
I understand you're curious about Calendar settings. The good news is: you can still opt to receive event alerts before the event, rather than at the time of the event. You posted in the macOS forum, so I'll provide those steps first, but I'll also include the iOS instructions just in case. On a Mac, open the Calendar app and select Calendar from the menubar at the top of the screen. Select Preferences from the drop down, then navigate to the Alerts tab. You'll see here that you can change how alerts behave within the Calendar app, so you can choose to be notified earlier than the event, and by what margin.
The process is fairly similar on iOS; just select Settings > Calendar > Default Alert Times and you'll find you can customize alert settings in the same way that you could on the Mac.
I hope this helps clear things up for you. Cheers!

I can see that there is only one default alert for an event. Is it possible to switch this to two? For example, on both my iPhone and my Mac, I have changed my default alert setting to one hour before. Could I change this to one hour before and fifteen minutes before as well?
