How to avoid auto text replies while on “do not disturb when driving” mode
Greetings! I’m really enjoying the new “do not disturb while driving” feature. It’s a spectacular safety tool and I hope everyone uses it. That said, something that bugs me about it is that there’s no way to avoid the two automatic text messages that tell people who text me that I’m driving.
First of all, none of their business that I’m driving. Secondly, people need to understand that life doesn’t revolve around their text messages (my friends and family know not to expect immediate responses). Thirdly, not everyone who texts me reads and writes English, or aren’t aware that iPhone responds to them when I’m driving, and they will be confused. Fourth, and most important, the whole idea of this feature is to NOT be disturbed by text messages. It thoroughly defeats the purpose to allow someone’s message through if the text “urgent” when they see the “I’m driving” auto text messages. If I’m in DND I don’t want to see any alerts, period.
So, Apple, get those brainy developers of yours working on a) the ability to opt-out of sending auto reply text messages and b) the ability to edit what the messages say, should I want them activated.
If anyone has suggestions or feedback on how I can manage this, I’m all eyes. Thank you!
