I Just upgraded to high sierra and no internet

I just upgraded to OS 10.13.1 and have no internet connectivity. I’m on an IMac (circa 2012), with an Intel processor - 3.4 ghz. Looking at Network Preferences, it tells me I am connected but nothing is happening. What steps Can I go through to troubleshoot this?

That means your Mac is connected to a wireless router, but it can't connect to the Internet. Did you try restarting your router? Unplug it and let it rest for a moment or two, then plug it back in again.

Needless to say, if you are using any non-Apple "anti-virus", "cleaning", "cleansing", "washing", "Internet security" junk, anything at all in those broad categories of useless garbage, don't. A lot of things won't work if you do.
